‘Ascent Over, Evening Rain Ahead’ - Landscape with SR V Schools Class near Hackhurst. £431 (+p&p)
Painting of a distant locomotive trailing a plume of steam entering rain clouds against hilly background.

I love this area, as I must have walked nearly every path for miles around here in my late teens, usually in the evenings after school. The light and weather over the North Downs is often spectacular so it was easy to envisage the image of this plucky looking Reading to Redhill local service as it tops out the climb at Hackhurst and heads out of the evening sun into a sweeping low raincloud with the Downs behind it, in the 1950's.

Oil on Canvas Board, Size c. 16"x12". Price £431 (+p&p medium)
